Chocolate Hazelnut Bliss Balls

Bliss balls are one of my favourite things in life. they’re just great. fancy a snack? Haven’t got time for breakfast? need something sweet after dinner? bliss balls will have your back. i’ll admit, I can quite often fall into the habit of just buying them (my cupboards are 90% deliciously ella balls…), but making them from scratch is definitely a money saver. Plus you can make them any flavour you like which is the best part. these healthy chocolate hazelnut balls are seriously fudgy, seriously gooey and seriously delicious. you’re welcome.

Chocolate Hazelnut Bliss Balls

Total time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

* 2 cups dates (I use dried and soak them in boiling water for 10 mins)

* 3 tbsp cacao powder

* 1/2 cup almonds

* 1/2 cup hazelnuts

* 2 tbsp nut butter (I typically use peanut butter but any nut/seed butter will do)

* 1 tbsp maple syrup

Method:
1. If using dried dates, start by soaking them in boiling water for about 10 minutes.

2. place the almonds and hazelnuts into a food processor and pulse until they have broken down into very small pieces.

3. Drain the dates and add to the food processor alongside the remaining ingredients. Blend until the mixture has fully combined.

4. With slightly damp hands (to stop the mixture from sticking to you), roll the mixture into small balls and put to one side. Optional: roll the balls in any topping you fancy. Finely chopped hazelnuts or cacao powder would work well for these.

5. Place the balls into the freezer to harden for at least 15 minutes.
